WriteWords

Privacy

Last updated 22 October 2026

Write Words collects no data. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. What you write stays on your device and in places you choose.

Your texts

Your texts, their history and your settings are kept on your device, inside Write Words. They are never sent to us; we have no servers that receive them.

Backups

While a text is open Write Words copies it every minute it changes, and once a day it copies each text, with its history, to the place you choose in Settings: your iCloud Drive, a folder you pick in the Files app, or this device only. iCloud Drive is Apple's service and is covered by Apple's privacy policy. A folder you pick may belong to another provider you've set up in Files, such as Google Drive or Dropbox, and is covered by that provider's policy.

Feedback from Apple Intelligence

Feedback runs on Apple Intelligence's model on your device. The sentence, your revision, your notes on it and the context around them are read there and go nowhere else.

Importing from Google Docs

When you share a Google Docs link to Write Words, the app downloads that document from Google directly to your device, as your browser would. Google's privacy policy applies to that request. We don't see it. When you send a copy from Google Docs instead, the file comes to Write Words through the share sheet on your device.

Purchases

Write Words Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never receive your payment details. The app reads your subscription's status from the App Store on your device.

Reminders

The writing reminder is a notification scheduled on your device. It isn't sent from a server.

Diagnostics

Write Words keeps Apple's crash and performance reports on your device and doesn't send them anywhere. If you've chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may share crash reports with us under Apple's terms.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run and secure the site.

Children

Write Words doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
